Acesite Park, a project by the Logan Group, is a testament to the power of design in reconnecting people with nature. Inspired by the desire to create a tranquil artistic space amidst the hustle and bustle of city life, this project stands out for its use of pure natural elements to evoke a rich and colorful life mood, reflecting the living atmosphere of the modern East.
The project's unique features lie in its commitment to sustainable practices. In response to the national government's policy call for "low-impact development rainwater system construction", the design incorporates the "sponge city construction" technical system. This includes sunken green belts, rain gardens, and glassed swales among other ecological landscape and catchment area facilities, which enhance the park's ecosystem function.
The realization of this design involved the use of environmentally friendly materials like silica sand permeable bricks and ceramic permeable bricks for the community pavement. These materials not only have excellent water permeability, pressure resistance, and sound absorption properties, but also contribute to the creation of a "breathing" landscape pavement. This innovative approach effectively improves the self-regulation ability of the small environment and reduces carbon dioxide emissions.
The technical specifications of the design are impressive. The sponge facilities of the whole project have a water storage volume of 2547.84 cubic meters, with a total annual runoff control rate of 72% and a pollutant reduction rate of 43%. These figures are industry-leading, demonstrating the project's commitment to environmental sustainability.
One of the key challenges faced during the design process was the creation of a garden with slope, depression, and patchwork, taking "terraced fields" as the design principle. This approach helped to deal with the relationship among people, land, and water, and achieved the purpose of slow drainage of rainwater. The central waterscape also has the effect of water storage, creating conditions for the reuse of rainwater.
In conclusion, Acesite Park is a shining example of how landscape design can be used to create a harmonious blend of modern living and nature, while also promoting sustainability and ecological balance. Its recognition with the Silver A' Landscape Planning and Garden Design Award in 2021 is a testament to the Logan Group's outstanding expertise and innovation in the field of design.
